Detecting Noise Pollution

What is Noise Pollution?

Noise pollution, or noise nuisance, is, as the term suggests, nuisance caused by sound. Examples include a festival that is too loud, an unexplained hum, or disturbance from construction work. Noise pollution can be very serious. Prolonged exposure to noise pollution can cause stress, sleep deprivation, and even mental health issues.

What Does Event Acoustics Do?

Event Acoustics has developed advanced measurement equipment that allows us to identify the source of noise pollution. We do this by measuring both the potential source and the receiver. This way, we can compare whether what our equipment measures matches what the receiver hears. This method of measurement is unique and incredibly effective.

The Process

Step 1

When you hire us to detect noise pollution, we will first meet with you to understand the nuisance you are experiencing. Then, we conduct tests to assess your hearing and the type of sound you hear.

Step 2

We place our equipment in all the locations where the nuisance could originate and where you experience the nuisance. You are then asked to report when you hear the sound.

Step 3

With insight into when you hear something and when our equipment measures sound, we can compare these results. This way, we can identify any overlap and determine the source.

Step 4

We share the results with you and explain where the noise is coming from. This allows you to take the necessary steps to resolve the issue.
